UConn played tremendous defense in the second half, holding Southern to 10 points on 4-of-30 shooting from the field. The Huskies finished the game with a 52-22 rebounding advantage and a 22-4 edge in points front he foul line. UConn advances to the second round to take on either eighth-seeded Temple or ninth-seeded James Madison.
